Loralette Giveaway!

Top | Jeans | Shoes(Similar) | Bag | Earrings

Spring is here! I am so excited to be able to pull out my favorite sandals and pair them with new fresh spring styles. The trends of the spring and summer are off the shoulder tops and destroyed denim, and I can happily report that both of these options are available to plus size women!!!

This outfit is so versatile, it can take you from shopping with the girls(which I was doing when we shot this lol) to date night out with your guy. On trend, casual and easy to wear. The one item you do need is a good strapless bra, I am planning on a strapless bra post soon because those can be hard to find for curvy babes.

Today I am doing a giveaway with Loralette, and its so easy to do! All you need to do is follow me on Instagram and comment on the photo with how you would style a piece of my look and the first 20 commenters get a free gift card to Loralette!!!!

Hop on over to my Instagram(@curlsandcontours) around lunch to participate!

Anne Lace Skirt with Society Plus

Ā In this post I really feel like talking about dreams. Chasing your dreams, not turning back when things get tough, doing your very best. I want to talk about these things because I feel like it needs to be said, you are your dreams. Two years ago, I graduated from college with a degree I didn’t really want. And instead of just getting a job in the field, I decided to ACT. I decided to start Curls and Contours. All of a sudden and honestly I don’t know how I didn’t see it before, I wanted to live a truly unique life, free from the everyday strains of a 40 hour work week. Ā I wanted more, and I wanted to create, and educate, and inspire.

A dream formed, and it was clear. My new job? Chase that dream down. I took my brains from college, and pushed them at Curls and Contours. I can’t say that I haven’t thought about quitting, or giving up these past two years. Its not easy putting yourself out there. But I have to keep pushing, because everyday I live my dream, I am one step closer to that unique life.

This past year my life completely changed, I changed jobs(still working that 40 lol), I found more value in myself than I even knew existed, I lost an old friend, and I gained a new one, I learned about myself, and I figured out how to push on.

I push forward, and each day I get one step closer to that unique life.Ā

Now you are probably thinking(unless you are my mom, hey Janice!) “Anne we aren’t here to read about your philosophical thoughts on dreams, we are here for the SKIRT.” And you are so right, this skirt from Society Plus is AMAZING! Once again I am so impressed with the quality, and what I love the most is the weight of the fabric, its heavy and luxe. I obsessed over this when I shared the Sequin Society Plus Skirt too!!! What is it with me and heavy fabrics lol.

Now being a curvy girl, there are styles out there that just don’t exist for plus size people(so shitty I know believe me) and a lace mini skirt used to fall in that category, have you been on Pinterest lately? Lace mini skirts are everywhere, all the small people have them. Being the curvy girl that wants it all, I have always lusted after one. So it is only fitting that Society Plus would give me the opportunity to name and style this skirt. For my readers that have been with my since day one, SOCIETY PLUS NAMED THIS SKIRT AFTER ME!! OMFG!! Right? hahaha

Shop the skirt, love the skirt, and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.Ā

Dress | BootsĀ |Shoe OptionĀ | Bag | Jacket

It has been SO HARD keeping my involvement with Loralette a secret! I am so honored to be one of the first bloggers to work with Loralette, Avenue’s new plus line. What I specifically love about this new brand launch is the #letmebeme social tag they have come up with. They asked me to come up with my own “Let Me Be Me” tag to go with this rocking red dress and I really felt that “Let Me Be Bold” was a fitting statement. Not just for this dress, but for my life.

What is the definition of Bold?

(of a person, action, or idea) showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous.
“a bold attempt to solve the crisis”
synonyms: daring, intrepid, brave, courageous, valiant, valorous, fearless, dauntless, audacious, daredevil

That is my journey to body acceptance, as a plus size woman it is extremely hard to STOP seeing yourself as something that can be “Fixed” and just seeing yourself as unbroken and beautiful. Then admitting it to the world? That is bold.

To me, “Let me be me” is all about owning your own truth. What is your truth? I found mine to be that I am unapologetically bold. I am going to take that risk, I am going to be confident, I am going to have the courage to stand tall and proud in a society that has conditioned me to believe that I am something that can just be “fixed” with the right diet, or concealing piece of clothing.

So here is the exciting part! You can shop my curated picks on Loralette.com

You guys! Isn’t that the coolest ever? I am on Loralette and my picks from their collection are all in one place for you to shop from. All of my “Bold” pieces are right in one place. I am going to put the link directly to my curated closet below so you can get to it directly.

Thank you for tagging along on my journey to own my own Truth.Ā

Be bold sisters.Ā

Styling a Statement Piece

Pants | Shoes(Similar) | Bag | SunniesĀ

Ok, I am doing something I hate doing on Curls and Contours. Blogging about an item that is no longer available(but hopefully comes back in stock soon!). BUT, before you click away. I wanted to blog about the “Style” of jacketĀ because it is so popular for spring. The Statement piece, its a bright color, or a unique pattern, it has ruffles, or bell sleeves, or a unique collar. This spring one of the hottest trends is to have embellished sleeve, on your coat or your top. I am going to be linking my favorite statement coats in this post. And I PROMISE that when this one comes back in stock i will let you know asap.

How I style a statement jacket? Keep everything else REALLY REALLY simple. Basic pants, a simple top, and neutral shoes. Now in my case I believe that leopard is a neutral, sooooo I carried my favorite Clare V. clutch with this crazy cool jacket. Think about it this way, when you get that gorgeousĀ statement piece, do you want anything else competing with it? NO, you want to frame your whole look around that statement piece. Effortlessly Chic, and not afraid to stand out in the crowd. šŸ™‚

Here are some of my favoriteĀ statement pieces for spring.Ā

Option 1- LOFT

Option 2- EloquiiĀ

Option 3 – Torrid

Option 4 – Lane Bryant

Option 5 – ASOS
