I can’t believe that its February already! Living in the north, this time of year means we are settling in for the deep freeze. February is the coldest time of year, but I refuse to let the cold weather keep me from thinking Spring! If you have been on my blog before then you know that I am a big fan of little black dresses! Everything in this look has been in my closet for over a year, as a blogger I am always trying to bring you new trends and the latest tops/skirts/pants/dresses. But my love for black dresses transcends the seasons, I am always wearing and re-wearing this style.
For a little mid winter remix, I grabbed my favorite leather booties and an old chambray. I really love how the chambray adds a casual vibe and some great texture and how the bootie really acts as a neutral because it matches the color of the dress. This type of dress is one that requires CONFIDENCE, and let me tell you…
When you have the confidence to rock this piece, you then get the empowerment that comes with owning your body and loving your curvy self enough to show it off. So many plus size women hide behind baggy clothing, and feel that they are not supposed to show off their figures. I don’t agree with this line of thought, love the skin you are in, take care of your body and be empowered by the knowledge that you are doing your best to love yourself. One of my goals for Curls and Contours this year, is to spend more time talking about confidence and empowerment, being confident in yourself comes from within. But a sassy piece of clothing that you feel great in can really help a girl speak up more and smile a little brighter.

You look adorable. I do not have that kind of confidence, but I have come a long way from where I was a few years ago. The fact that I am even willing to stand in front of the camera is proof of that. Ha, ha. I like how you added the chambray around your waist. It provided a fun pop of color. That wall you are in front of is really cool! Great pics! Have a great weekend. – Amy
