What is it that they say about taking fashion risks? If you don’t try it you will never know if you like it. I think thats it, and it couldn’t be more true with these statement pants. I don’t usually post workwear pieces, because I live a very casual life. I don’t get dressed up for work and there is no dress code at my job. But when I was first introduced to the Astra Signature line (designed and created by Crystal Coons from the vlog Sometimes Glam) I knew that I had to have these pants in my life. One of my goals as a blogger is to bring pieces to my readers in plus sizes that usually aren’t available. Like my white lace skirt with Society Plus, I am always looking for pieces that exist in the straight size world but don’t in the plus size world. These pants fit that description. ๐
Pant Details
These are the “Annie” pants(fitting right LOL), they are a dark navy and feature a tapered leg and a paper bag waistline with a belt. The fabric is a stretch Cotton/Nylon blend that is very soft and easy to wear and has a slight sheen to it. I am wearing a size 14, they are meant to fit loose around the hips and thighs. I originally ordered a size 16, and had to exchange for a smaller size.If I were you, I would size down.
How to Style
I opted to style these pants with a pair of summer sandals(that are not really work appropriate LOL) and a white blouse. I wanted to keep it simple so that the waistline detail could really shine, I struggled to pair a jacket with these pants because the waistline brings so much drama. If you are a person that prefers to have your shoulders covered(or your office requires it) I would style these pants with a top like this, or this. And with shoes like this. ๐
For more of a dressy casual, fashion forward look, that isn’t about work. I would love to style these pants with a white ribbed tank, and sky high heels. Wearing a fitted top is really going to highlight the unique waistline, and in my case my waist is the smallest part of my figure, so a fitted top will really show that off. I can see myself wearing these on a dinner out with my girlfriends.
