This past week I had the pleasure of attending an influencer event at the D-Tour Spa at Motor City Casino and Hotel in Detroit. It was so fabulous to have an afternoon of pampering at the spa, then my blogger bestie Liz (withwonderandwhimsy.com) and I stayed over night at the hotel for a girls night out! We took some photos with our phones and some with the camera, so excuse the photo quality. 🙂
I got two different services while at the spa, a swedish massage and a manicure/pedicure.
My mani pedi was in a private room, with motown music playing softly in the background. My nail tech was super knowledgeable about nails and trends, we spent pretty much the entire time chatting about plus size trends and store we liked to shop at. I went with a classic OPI Red color, and enjoyed the massage chair while I got my toes painted. My favorite part of a manicure is the hand massage, and the D Tour Spa manicure did not disappoint. My hands and feet were in perfect condition when I left for my next service.
I usually only get a massage when my back is in distress. In college I was getting tension headaches at least once a month, and would go get my neck worked on. Now that I am not stressed from school, I don’t get headaches anymore so I don’t get massages. I used to only associate massage with pain, because of all the problems I was having. Now I can say that I have a completely different view.
The D Tour Spa had me in for a special treat. My massage therapist was like a magician, she found knots in my back that I didn’t even know existed, it was so relaxing to just be able to get a massage, listen to some calming music and know that I was doing something really good for my body.
After my services D Tour had some dinner options for us, I was able to meet some new blogger friends and have a healthy post spa meal. My mom and I were chatting the next day about all that spa’s in general offer and how most people do not utilize everything. I loved chatting with the other bloggers in the lounge area, I didn’t have time to utilize the steam room and whirlpool but next time I will be!
I would come back to the D Tour spa again, it was such a relaxing and pampering experience. Everything felt so upscale and luxurious, as a busy working women I don’t give myself enough opportunities to enjoy a relaxing day. The D Tour event was a reminder that I need to take more time to treat myself.

After we left the spa, we got ready for a girls night out. Liz and I both rocked a sexy black outfit. I wore a Vince Camuto dress from THIS blog post. Liz rocked her ASOS jumpsuit that I love!!
After going to New York for a week with Liz, I knew she would want to go up to the Iridescence for some oysters and the cheese plate (not pictured Squash Blossoms that were amazing). Honestly ladies, I felt so Sex and The City with my pomegranate cosmo in my black body con dress. lol.
Pictured here, are Oysters Rockefeller, and the Cheese Plate.
I have eaten at Iridescence before, but I have never been able to sit by the window and look over the city. This is a great restaurant for a special date night out, or in our case a girls night.
We stayed in a lovely double room on the executive level, with a great view of the city. Something that I really loved was the bathroom!!! It was gorgeous, the shower and tub were a dream.
We had a state of the art TV, and when we were getting ready the night before I was able to hook my phone up to a in room speaker so we could listen to some Motown. What I really appreciated about this space was the quality linens, the decor, and the view.
We popped up the the 14th floor the next day and grabbed some complimentary breakfast and coffee to take back to the room.
