I can’t believe its been three weeks since my vacation! After so much thoughtful packing and planning leading up to the trip, it is mind boggling how easy it is to come home and “forget” you ever went anywhere. Luckily for me I have a fabulous blog and some really gorgeous pieces I bought for the trip that will help me to remember. 🙂
I always shop like a maniac before any trip I take, I want to show up at my destination feeling fresh and new, my best version of myself. Does anyone else do this? LOL I imagine myself strolling along the beach or down a city street, I am relaxed, and I am fabulous. I turned to one of my favorite local boutiques for pieces that would help enhance my tropical experience and I was not disappointed.
The girls at Liz Louize really came through for me. In the weeks before my trip they got a shipment of “Lilly Puliter-esque” plus size pieces in that scream “take me on vacation with you!” I popped in and scooped up this teal/green palm dress and a linen top and I was good to go!
I know I am always talking about the value of being able to try on and that in todays plus industry that is really disappearing, but I will say it again! It was so great to be able to pick pieces and TRY THEM ON before purchasing! When you are shopping a boutique you have stepped into the boutique owners world, they have worked so hard to curate and select pieces that they love and want to share. I never would have thought to get this dress, had I not seen it in Liz Louize!
About this specific dress, this piece is a lightweight patterned rayon, its cut to flatter any shape, and has some gathering under the bust, I found the teal and green to work really well together. I plan on styling this piece in the Michigan summer months with some gold gladiator sandals and an oversized denim jacket.
Style Tip – When packing for vacation make sure to include some versatile shoes that will pair well with multiple pieces in your closet, I always bring a comfy nude heeled shoe, and some fun “cheap” accessories to round out my looks. If I lose an earring while out and about, its not the end of the world, cause I only paid 8 bucks for them!

Hi- I follow you on Facebook. I really like your style and shopping recommendations. I’m confused on how to find your blogs sometimes because you only include hashtags. I was interested in reading your blog about the LV bag but I don’t see where its posted. Thanks for your help. Ellen
