I have yet to really post on Curls and Contours about my Equestrian life. This post is long overdue for multiple reasons, one being that so much of my personal style stems from my equestrian roots, and two riding is a HUGE part of my life. I spend my days in three versions of the same outfit. Mornings I can be seen running around in leggings and sneakers, afternoons I can be seen in skinnies and a cute top, and evenings I have on boots, breeches or jeans and a barn top.
I am blessed to have three beautiful horses in my life. All of them like people bring something different to the table. I have the youngster who is bred for greatness but is still a work in progress, the people pleaser who is just happy to be where you are, and the beautiful bay mare who runs the whole operation and is as much of a princess as I am. I am beyond blessed to have these beautiful creatures in my life, and I am lucky to call them teammates in competition.
Fall is my favorite season for riding, so look forward to more posts on C&C on my Equestrian life!
Happy first day of Fall! My favorite time of year, I love the fashion, weather, changing colors, and activities. Here in Michigan Fall is THE BEST! From the Haunted Houses, to the Color Tours there is so much to do in this state! But the weather is not always beautiful, as the leaves turn the rain starts up. This rain isn’t a little sprinkle that is warm and refreshing, its a heavy cold rain that weighs the leaves down and makes them fall from the trees. BOO!
What do you need when it rains? Well you need Rain Boots of course! The coveted Hunter boot, made famous by Princess Diana and the Queen of England has exploded in popularity. NOW, some say these boots were made popular by Kate Moss, but lets be real Royalty has been rocking these beauties for much longer. If they are good enough for Royalty they are good enough for me.
Hunter boots are not the only fantastic boot on the market, lots of brands have added rain boots to their lines. You can find a boot in any color, pattern, style, or price that you might want. For us curvy girls with bigger calves, they even have options for wide calf rain boots!
I have linked some options in this post that will work for girl with bigger calves(like me). I own the Hunter Boots with fringe, and I LOVE LOVE them!
ASOS is having a SALE ON SALE ON SALE! I shopped this morning and found some great picks that will work now and into cooler temperatures. I have featured my personal favorites but there are so many options and great items that are part of the sale.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out ASOS Curve now is the time to get some great clothing at a fantastic price.
Joggers, have you tried them? Let me tell you RIGHT NOW that this new trend is AMAZEBALLS.
Now you may be thinking Anne what the hell is a “Jogger?” Joggers are pants that are gathered at the hem (Like your Grandpas sweatpants). Except NOW they aren’t just sweatpants, they come in a million different patterns and styles. They are effortlessly on trend and are insanely comfortable. Be prepared to get some comments from the men in your life (my older brother had something to say, and Keith had an opinion) on these pants. My answer to their comments was…I don’t dress for you, I dress for myself. AND today MYSELF wore these pants. 🙂
This particular pair came from ASOS Curve, and I seriously wear them EVERY time they are clean. I have worn them with sandals, wedges, and moccasins. I have worn them with a black shirt, white shirt, chambray. I have worn them with tons of jewlery, just the basics or none at all. I wear them hair up, hair down, hair dirty, or hair brown (just kidding on that last part). I think I just had a Dr. Seuss moment haha.
