The Perfect Fall Outfit

This little outfit is SO ME its not even funny. Tunic, leggings, scarf, boots this combo is basically my Fall uniform. What I love about this outfit is that it is SO easy to throw on and go. You just need to make sure your leggings aren’t see through, and your tunic covers your front and back. Nobody wants to see your bits and pieces while you are grocery shopping, or picking up your kids from school. Truth is power, and that is the TRUTH about leggings and tops.

I picked up this top in two colors during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I love it. BUT it wrinkles easily. So if that doesn’t bother you then this top is a great basic option to add to your wardrobe(personally its not that big of a deal). If a couple wrinkles makes you crazy then I would keep shopping. Green is SO in for Fall, and this shade is a fun option, I am pro matchy matchy so pairing this pastel green with my scarf and sunnies was a no brainer. The hat was a last minute thought, and its cute, but I will probably wear this outfit without it. Seriously I LOVE matching. A lot.

When I put this look on, my friend and photographer instantly said we needed to head to my garden. These photos were so fun to shoot. Lots of laughs, and my husbands potato box was my prop. Hahaha.

Glossybox September

Just a quick post today, checking in with my Glossybox subscription. Currently on the couch recovering from a fun filled Saturday night in Detroit at the Zac Brown Band concert.

WOW, has it really been 3 months since I posted about my first Glossybox? Well I have been happily receiving and enjoying my Glossybox subscription since finding out through a friend about this great service. I am so happy with my boxes. Glossybox subscription service is like a gift to myself every month, when the box arrives it is packaged so well that you really do feel like you are receiving a present. I am praticularly excited to try out The Revitalizer from Boissanse, and the Coffea body scrub!

What was in my box this month? Here’s the details!

  1. Coffea– 16.00 A coffee scrub that claims to clear up dry patches, stretch marks and poor circulation(cellulite).
  2. Julep Luxe Lip– 24.00 This lip gloss has a Zamac tip applicator that is cooling, This gloss soothes, hydrates and plumps lips. *Does not taste good.
  3. Boissanse The Revitalizer– 58.00 This emollient replenishes and hydrates the skin, This facial moisturizer can be used all over your body.
  4. Emité Artist Colour Powder Blush– 22.00 This blush utilizes mica an ancient mineral that is used for its light reflecting properties.
  5. Nails Inc Uptown Nail Polish– 14.00 Nails Inc has created a lacquer that is both glossy and long lasting. This polish claims to be highly pigmented. I am going to try it out, but I will say that Glossybox continues to send me pink polishes when in my beauty profile I specifically wrote that I liked darker polishes.

Nails Wraps, the new manicure.

I love a doing my nails. I LOVE it, I change my nails once a week, and its something that I really enjoy doing on a Sunday evening. I sit down with a glass of wine and take a few minutes to indulge in myself and do something just for me. Its all fun and games until, I bump my wine glass or smudge my polish…And then I am PISSED, I have to start all over with paint and the whole drying process is halted until I can get that one little spot correct. I seriously have every fast drying nail product under the sun. The spray, the drops, the polish, the little fan…I have even used my hair dryer to get my nails dry, because once I am doing painting them I am ready to be done with the whole process. I want instant dry so I can move on to what I have next on my mind. This NEVER works. NEVER.

Enter Nail Wraps, have you tried them? Put them on, instant manicure. No wait, no dry time…Possible perfection right? I have done the Sally Hanson wraps, and the Essie wraps too. But I always am left feeling more than a little disappointed. They are expensive its a ONE time use for ONE package and once you open them you are donezo, use it or lose it. Then half the time they don’t stick or they don’t have the pattern or color I was looking for.

I had the opportunity to try Jamberry recently, and I cant tell you how fun it was (actually I CAN tell you and I am right now lol). What set this product apart from the other wraps on the market is the personal application experience you receive from the consultant, you actually get to have a conversation with someone about the product and talk to them about how to properly apply and get the most out of the product. I would compare this experience to going to the Beauty counter at the mall(or Sephora, or Ulta), you don’t just walk up to the counter and pick a random product that you have never used and know nothing about and take it home and TRY to see if it works. Seriously don’t do that, talk to the expert that WANTS TO HELP YOU REALLY BAD!  Leslie the Jamberry consultant that I am working with was so helpful and fun to talk to. SHE is what made me love this product.

Not to mention all the designs and options the company offers. I had a hard time picking what I wanted to try out!

Side Note- Hand Modeling? Really effing hard, sorry for the awkward pictures in advance, remember I am still new at this.

The Stiletto nail that Lady GaGa doesn’t have…

Ok ladies, last week I decided that I needed to mix it up with my nails. I have for years been the classic rounded natural nail.

Anyways…Last week, I decided that I was in fact going to try that pointed nail look. I seriously was soooo nervous about it, “Oh my god, once I do it I can never go back” blah, blah, blah. But I got myself a new nail file and went ahead and filed those suckers to DEATH…seriously my leggings were covered in my own nail dust (gross). Then I thought actually stiletto is a little harsh, my nails are more like almonds. I rocked that almond look for a whole three days…Then I thought, you know what. Lady GaGa isn’t the only one that can rock some pointy ass dagger nails. So last night I went to filing, and you know what is totally adorable and chic? Stiletto nails.

So here is what I did, and how I did it. I got a NEW (thats right, big spender) nail file. I then just started working the nail file on the sides of each nail, creating a straight edge. I switched back and forth on either side of the nail bed, until I had worked the nail to a point. From there I painted my nails(Essie Muchi, Muchi), and scratched my husbands head for him…haha

They are not perfect, but neither am I. Adorable for now, its easy to do and very chic!
