Louis Vuitton Favorite MM

Bag | Skirt | Shoes

Finally I have time to sit down and formerly introduce you to my latest handbag. The Louis Vuitton Favorite MM in Monogram Canvas with the adjustable monogram strap. After months of research and reading I ordered the Favorite MM as my new cross body option, I have been trying to find a crossbody that would meet my needs for about 6 months. I have tried Gucci, Michael Kors, and Coach. I just knew that I really wanted another Louis Vuitton bag, its iconic, holds value, and come with incredible customer service.

Let me start from the beginning… In April my mom and I made the trip out to LV to get my birthday present, we had our now annual day at the mall together, shopping and eating(and drinking lol). I ended up getting the Zippy Wallet in Rose Ballerine. ITS GORGEOUS and so useful(thank you to my hubby and my parents!). While we were there, I asked about the Favorite MM. It was completely out of stock in there store in the MM size and not available. Bummer I was not going to be able to get the bag that day. So we happily skipped out the door with my new wallet. I knew with a trip coming up, that I needed a crossbody option that I could carry on my trip and for years to come

So….I watched one million more youtube reviews.

I decided that I did in fact need to track down a Favorite MM, so I started calling. AND calling, AND being transferred. I ended up tracking down a Favorite MM in Monogram at the Nordstrom Flagship store in Seattle. One of the TWO Nordstrom LV boutiques in the nation happened to have received the bag hours before I called. So she was shipped to my door!

The Favorite MM measures 11 x 7 inches. Its not tiny, but definitely doesn’t hold a ton. I feel that if I wanted to carry a ton of stuff I would just use my Neverfull GM.

What fits in my Favorite MM

Key Pouch | Zippy Wallet | Iphone 7 plus | Lip Balm | Headphones

Lets talk strap options. With this particular bag a vachetta strap is included as a crossbody option, I chose to purchase a monogram strap for a more casual look and I also purchased a gold chain from Amazon to have as a dressier option. The LV strap trifecta!

There are a ton of rumors circulating about all of the LV Crossbody bags right now. I have heard everything from LV is retiring their entire current crossbody line and bringing out all new bags this fall TO everything is staying(except the Eva) put but particular bags are selling out fast due to popularity.

I for one am so pleased with this little bag, I can carry the essentials and enjoy having both hands free. I know I will be carrying this for years to come. 🙂

Adams Halloween Bash

So I have been planning a Halloween party for months, and I had it all planned perfectly. In my mind the weather was going to perfect! I had planned a tent with these amazing lights, and decorations, a bonfire, a hayride. My home and property would be full of people dressed in fantastic costumes on a beautiful Fall evening. We would bob for apples and drink to much mulled wine. This party that I had planned was perfection. THEN, real life smacked me in the head. It was going to RAIN. And not just a light sprinkle, like TORRENTIAL down pour. I had all these decorations that I had obsessively selected, I mean I committed an entire Pinterest board to this event. I had centerpieces that I had designed and a Photo Booth that I created from scratch. At this point I was so bummed over the rain that I just didn’t even have a second plan in place, my hubby stepped in and completely cleaned out his barn, and prepped it for me to host my event in.

Now you may be thinking, damn that is so redneck, and at first I really though that it would be that way. But somehow we pulled off a fantastic halloween bash right in the barn. I didn’t even notice the rain. I took some photos of what I put together in the house, but not in the barn of my decorations(I ran out of time when the party got going). I had a fantastic Photo Booth, that really was a hit at the party. Super easy to make and was so fun!

I used two big pieces of butcher paper, some black and red paint. I taped the paper together and sketched out the block lettering, then just some free hand painting, and voila! We had a Photo Booth back drop. I took pictures with my camera, and set up a construction light to make sure there was plenty of lighting. Curls and Contours, Halloween Party

I shopped mostly JoAnn’s and TJ Maxx for my decorations. I was really able to put together some great stuff AND get some fantastic deals!

Curls and Contours, Halloween Party

I picked up these decorations at JoAnn Fabrics for 70% off just a couple of days before the party! I saved over 300 dollars on everything!

Curls and Contours, Halloween Party

The skull garland I found at Marshalls, they are fantastic BUT the bulbs broke really easy, boo.

Curls and Contours, Halloween Party

The Wicked table runner was a TJ Maxx find, and of course we had some Michigan wine.

Curls and Contours, Halloween Party, Fiestaware

My pumpkin came from Home Goods, and the candlesticks were a wedding gift(they are Fiestaware). The adorable Tooth of Troll, and Bat Wing candles came from JoAnns they smelled like vanilla.

Curls and Contours, Forrest Gump Costume

We shopped Amazon for our costumes, I am a big fan of putting together your own costume and not buying a bag costume. Forrest and Jenny Gump, my hubby has been growing this beard, so he opted for the running across the country version of Forrest Gump, I went for the Hippie Jenny look. A post drug addict/pre HIV Jenny Gump was really the look I was trying for.

Because the party was outdoors, I had to think of ways to stay warm, without losing the look of my costume. So I grabbed a Faux Shearling coat, and some Figure Skater nude tights(perfect because they are thick and warm)and . Once our barn got warmed up I took off the coat. This dress came from Amazon, and was perfect for the whole look. For makeup and hair, I had to do a flower crown, I got a blowout and then had my hair curled and bangs parted in  70’s style. I went big with blue eyeshadow.

Michigan Wine Trail

On Saturday the hubby and I headed out for an adventure around Southern Michigan. The Mitten State has become increasingly popular in recent years for wineries. They are popping up everywhere! We live just west of Ann Arbor, near the popular southern Michigan wine trail. To celebrate our anniversary this year Keith and I decided to tour some wineries in our area. We had a blast, bought way to much wine and and ate way to much cheese.

Here is breakdown of our Pioneer Wine Trail Experience!

First stop! J Trees Winery in Tecumseh Michigan, this beautiful Cidery and Winery is located in the restored Hayden Mill in Tecumseh. I loved their Frazzle sparkling Rosé! I loved the atmosphere and decor of this location, it was light and airy with lots of photographs and fantastic light fixtures. The bar was bright and felt fresh and trendy.

Next! Flying Otter Winery in Adrian Michigan, this beautiful all outdoor space had fantastic views and great atmosphere! I fell in love with their Apple Pie Dessert wine, and Keith loved the Chancellor table red. We were able to walk around amongst the grapes a bit before taking off for the next spot.

NEXT! We traveled over to Brooklyn Michigan home of The Michigan International Speedway to visit Cherry Creek Winery. This place was beyond cool, located in a restored one room schoolhouse. This Winery also had live music, a great patio and THE BEST Lambrusco I have ever had! After the tasting we just hung out and listened to music on the patio for awhile.

Our next stop was Lone Oak Vineyard Estate in Grass Lake Michigan! What was neat about this winery, was that it was an Estate winery, meaning the only grapes used to create the wine were grown on the property.

Our last stop of the day was The Sand Hill Crane Vineyard. The favorite from our first wedding anniversary. Keith and I picked a wine from this vineyard on our first anniversary that we plan on opening on our 10 year anniversary. This year at Sand Hill Crane we purchased a Maple Syrup wine that will knock your socks off, aptly named Annie’s Mapleshine, and a Apple Crisp wine that you serve warm that is simply delicious.

We had planned to end the day with an elegant dinner somewhere BUT someone (that would be me) had a little too much wine, so we ordered greek salads from takeout and relaxed at home with some Criminal Minds and WATER. lol

Adams Pumpkin Patch

This weekend the weather was TERRIBLE. Rainy, cold, drizzly, and yuck! BUT we had a mission, we had to get our pumpkins out of the garden before they would begin to rot on the vine. So we made a plan to harvest the 9 beautiful pumpkins that were grown in our backyard. It was so much fun, we had our 4 year old niece over to help us get them, and so she could pick one to take home and keep for Halloween.

This time of year is especially significant to Keith and I, we were married 5 years ago this October. Our wedding theme was Glamorous Fall, and it was beautiful and perfect. We were married before Pinterest existed so I consider myself lucky. My wedding day was perfect and free from the pressure of the perfect Pinterest bride. I never felt the pressure to DIY the shit out of my wedding day. I was a Bride that had to buy ACTUAL wedding books and talk to designers and florists about ideas and designs. I will share my day someday.

We had a blast harvesting our pumpkins and decorating the porch, we followed up this chilly afternoon with Hocus Pocus, and easy baked apples.

My jacket is vintage, but this southwestern look is really popular right now. Here are a few options to recreate this look without having to search through thrift shops and flea markets.

  1. Maurices- $49.00
  2. Sundance- $198.00
  3. Nordstrom- $58.00
  4. Eloquii – 79.90
  5. Target- 27.99

AND HAVE YOU SEEN MY BOOTS! So amazing, waterproof, stylish, they fit my curvaceous calves! I wear them all the time, from the barn to mall. These boots never miss a beat! The best part is that the “Equestrian” style of dress has gone mainstream, so even if you don’t ride these babes will be perfectly on trend.

Bare Legs and Booties

Ann Taylor is known for making professional clothing for women. I picked up this pretty little dress and knew that it had the versatility to be much more than just a dress for the office. When I am shopping for clothing it MUST be versatile. I only buy something when I know that I can wear and re-wear a piece over and over again. Like I have wrote about before when you build a solid foundation of quality pieces you can really wear your wardrobe to its fullest extent. This dress is light, and can easily be worn in the summer with sandals, as Fall makes its way into our lives this dress can be worn with tights and boots. If you have a dress that has that light feel, have you considered pairing it with tights and boots for Fall?

These booties from Sorel, I mean THESE BOOTIES so good. They are AAAHHHMAZING! So comfy, chic and sexy these booties are waterproof and sport a fantastic sole that helps you grip in less than desirable weather. I have had these beauties for a year and wore them all last Fall and Winter, they held up fantastically. Sorel has expanded their selection of beautiful booties and you can now get them in more colors and styles.

I love the lace in this dress, so girly and fun. Then paired with the edgy leather booties, the whole look has great contrast. As a curvy girl, never be afraid to show your legs off!

Mixed Prints and Glamorous Campers.

HELL YES! I finally got to go to a Vintage Glamper show and Flea Market! I have this secret (ok not so secret) love for glampers (glamorous campers). I have been actively searching for an old crappy camper to redo into a fantastical girl camper, to take out on weekends and just be girly and sparkly in. You know drink Rosé, knit, and eat Meringues. A friend told me about this event happening just west of our place that was featuring vintage glampers and other girly fabulous vintage items. So OF COURSE we decided to go, and OF COURSE it was shitty weather. So I was able to break out my rain jacket, and blanket scarf…Can I get another HELL YES! I love my scarves.

I got so much inspiration from this event for my own glamper, it was seriously like Pinterest coming to life right before my eyes…SO AMAZING. Now my glamper fever is EVEN worse than it was before.

Catch up with me on Pinterest! I have an entire board all about my Pinterest obsessions.

Curvy Colorado

The last part of my journey on the West Coast was 7 days in beautiful Telluride Colorado. First of all. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THIS PLACE? It looks fake, its so beautiful that it doesn’t seem real. Small town America meets the mountains add in fantastic restaurants, adorable boutiques and HAVE YOU SEEN THE VIEW. Seriously.

In Telluride you walk every where so fashion choices have to circle around shoes that are comfortable. Mountain summers are AMAZING, highs in the 70’s everyday and lows in the 50’s at night. This type of weather lends itself to layers, always having a light jacket on hand is a must. On days I just bummed around town I wore sundresses and sandals. On days we planned on hiking I grabbed leggings and my hiking shoes. In the evenings I wore my Toms wedges and skinnies. With such a casual atmosphere it was so great to be comfortable and cozy.

So heres the thing about me and hats. I LOVE them. I searched for a hat all over California, like I really looked and I couldn’t find anything that I wanted. But in Telluride I found TWO hats that I had to have. So naturally being the compulsive instant gratification person that I am, I bought them both. One beautiful rust colored felt hat for Fall, and a fantastic wide brimmed straw sun hat. One of my favorite shops in town was Kellies Shop, I purchased my straw hat from here. I was able to meet Kellie and chat with her about her store and CO style.

I would not have made it in Telluride without my Chacos, and my Salomon hiking shoes. I wore my jean jacket almost everyday, and more often than not I ditched my purse and just stored my must haves in my pockets. Telluride is a SMALL town, and if there is really something that you have to have while you are out. Its a less than 5 minute walk home to get it.
Curls and Contours Telluride Downtown

Telluride is so hard to describe because it is so beautiful. The town is tucked up in the San Juan Mountains this little village is a former mining town. There is nothing commercial in this town, EVERYTHING is mom and pop, and everything is authentic. The town feels like a mix of the wild west and a trendy small town.

Aquarium Adventures

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of the most world renowned aquariums in on the planet. We were able to carve some time out of our busy schedule to go to the aquarium and see all that it had to offer. I enjoyed the jellyfish exhibit the most. It was staged almost like an art exhibit, unbelievable creatures and fantastic opportunities to learn more about the sea. We were also able to see a feeding in the million gallon tank, it was so fascinating to see Blue Fin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, and Sardines up close.

I knew we would be doing a lot of walking around so I tried to dress appropriately for the occasion. I wore my favorite Columbia Skort, Striped Top, and my favorite animal print New Balance sneaks. I dragged my Vivienne Westwood Sunnies and Halston bag along. I have always found that when you are traveling and planning on tourist activities, build your outfit from your shoes up. That way everything flows and your feet are comfortable for the long haul. I started with some statement sneaks, and then a sporty skort and relaxed top. I was happy and comfortable all day.
