This week on the blog I am sharing two Thanksgiving looks from Loralette, one casual and one dressier! Everyone has different family traditions, some families have a formal affair on Thanksgiving and some a casual hanging in the kitchen vibe. Loralette offers the curvy babe options for both. And SHOES, if you have been here before then you know Avenue has the bessst shoes(link HERE).
Continuing on with my thankful series this month, I wanted to share a book that my husband and I read a couple of years ago. The book is called “The 5 Love Languages” this is a book we read a few years into our marriage and it has been something that we talk about and use as a reminder on the best ways to show love and thankfulness/appreciation to each other. This is how it works, you read the book and learn about the different love languages, then you take the quiz and find out what yours are. Your partner does the same. Then you know how you feel loved and appreciated the best, and you learn how your partner feels love and appreciated best.
The weather is turning here in Michigan, and my short dress/bare legs days are numbered. So I am soooaaaaakkkking it up as long as I can. I paired these rugged/glam OTK boots with a lace up floral mini, this burgundy dress feels distinctly fall and perfect for a harvest celebration like Thanksgiving. The heeled boots dress this look up and lend it a winter vibe.
In the fall one sure fire way to amp up the cozy factor is to add a a blanket scarf, I keep one in my car in the colder months that way I can be cozy at any moment! LOL I believe that in the fall and winter a plaid scarf is basically a neutral. 🙂
On the website this piece looks like it has a “Swing” shape, but really this piece is more of an A line silhouette. The top is meant to be fitted and then at the seam at the waist lets go into a fun A line skirt! This piece has an inner tank dress that is attached at the shoulders. This gives you some flexibility with how much chest you want to show.
These OTK boots are called the “Hunter Over the Knee” boot which I think is really fitting. When my I first tried them on my husband told me I looked like I was ready to go out in the woods. LOL. I have a 17.5″ calf and these were a perfect fit. The lacing adds a unique touch and I really like the distressed look. I would pair these with jeans and a long chunky knit cardigan for a casual look.

I love getting dressed up, but for most American families Thanksgiving is a casual affair. Every year I usually end up in jeggings and a flowy blouse(that way its easier to get seconds on stuffing and pie LOL). This blouse sold out before I could get this post up, but I will link up some similar blouses from Loralette.
My current favorite Loralette blouses-
I am wearing a 16 in these and per the usual the waistband is a bit big, but the legs are perfect. LOL. The day we photographed this look it was 40 degrees out, I had planned on wearing THESE with this look but the weather was not permitting. Loralette is the sister brand to Avenue, I have heard great things about Ave denim, and can say that Loralette does not disappoint in this area either. These jeans are trendy, and stretchy but still hold their shape. I shared another pair of Loralette denim HERE. These jeggings are meant to be cuffed and offer a 3 button detail at waistband, which makes the waistband wider and offers more coverage.
Do you dress up or down for Thanksgiving? Tell me in the comments below!

Loving these homespun, boho-chic looks for Thanksgiving! They really capture the colors and mood of the season. I especially love the shots from the railroad tracks and all the print mixing at work in that look!
