Fall is just past its peak in southeast Michigan, and that means things are starting to give way to winter. Sturdy fabrics and layering are the name of the game when it comes to the cold transitional time between the warm fall days and wet winter ones. Today on the blog I am sharing a layered look that is simple and chic, lots of texture and cozy fabrics can be found here with a base of denim and comfy boots! As we all collectively brace for cold weather its time to start pulling out sweaters and our warmest things. Take note of what needs to be replaced and what you are excited to wear again this year! This will shape your closet for the coming winter months!
Style TIP – I gave this look a little more style by pulling up the sleeve of the sweater to show off the white henley top. This breaks up the color of the sweater and adds overall interest. I got this idea from the stock image of the sweater on the Anthropologie website, a stylist puts these looks together and its such an easy way to get inspiration on how to style a garment. Look at how the stylist has it on the model!
In todays post I am going to include some suitable fall/winter boot options as well as some heavier cardigans, these two pieces are a closet essential for the fall and winter months. A sturdy boot can carry you all the way into spring and a heavy cardigan can serve as a coat on warmer winter days AND as a cozy layer over all the things in the deepest winter months. I shared this outfit originally on Instagram, this cardigan was gifted to me from Anthro and it would be such a great Christmas gift! Anthro sweaters stand the test of time and are investment pieces that make any fashionista happy!
