Every year I get the amazing opportunity to attend Faster Horses Festival with a media pass, this enables me to get back stage, have a great parking space, and the opportunity to meet artists! I have attended this festival for years with a couple of my fabulous friends that work for a local country music radio station. Its so crazy to look back on photos from past years before Curls and Contours was my job, and boy has my festival style evolved since I first started attending FHF. So in this years festival post I thought I would share some fun pictures from the day, including my outfits and how I decided to put looks together!
I thought I would share some tips and tricks on how I dress for festivals, including where I draw my inspiration from and practical tips on navigating festival fashion for the curvy girl.
Day ONE
Day one of the festival I styled a maxi dress from Curves with Purpose with a pair of booties(because festival). I was going for a bohemian look that was easy and fun. BUT IT RAINED. š so my dress got wet, and I decided to change into jeans and a tank after the sun went down. Country music festivals are not like Coachella, its not about fashion. But each year I attend I see curvy babes at the festival rocking some form of festival fashion.
Day one of the festival we spend time exploring, checking out what is different from previous years and helping where needed.Ā The weather the weekend of the festival called for rain, so I cam prepared with extra outfits, a rain jacket and some boots.
TIP ONE – Stay true to yourself. Just because every single other babe at the festival is wearing cut offs and a bikini top does not mean you have too. I am not a shorts andĀ bikini top girl, so I always plan on jeans, dresses, and tees. Confidence is the mostĀ important part of any look, so whatever you have on wear it with confidence and it will look great!Ā
Guys….I got to meet Blake Shelton! He is super tall and super nice!
Day TWO
Day two of the festival it was cooler from the rain, so I swapped out my originally planned outfit for some skinny jeans(Lane Bryant) and my favorite camo jacket from Yours Clothing. I added a neck scarf and western belt for a little country flare. This type of look is totally me, and different from what most girls were wearing at the festival. I wore my hair all natural, because being out in the elements for 15 hours and trying to maintain a certain hair style is not possible. lol.
TIP TWO – Bring a mini bag with some essentials in it. FromĀ deodorant toĀ ibuprofen when you are out all day at a festival in the hot sun YOU NEED A BACKUP! I always have an anti chafe stick, some extra lipstick and a rain jacket in my bag, among other things lol. I am never sorry I have those little extras.Ā
We were headed out to the parking lot and “ran” into Charlie Worsham. š
The girls and I also got to meet Billy Currington, who was super nice and pretty lit. lol.
Day THREE
The final day of the festival called for PERFECT cool weather, we spent the day listening to music, helping fans with meet and greets, and chatting with friends. I styled a City Chic dress that I picked up at HIPS Resale boutique, with some booties and a hat. This was my favorite festival look, and one that I will DEFINITELY be repeating this fall!
TIP THREE – I draw my inspiration for festival fashion by checking out what female artists are wearing, following my favorite bloggers during festival season. Then I adapt those looks for my curvy style!Ā
My girl gang for the weekend! Every year the ladies and I spend the weekend working the festival and catching up with each other!
