Happy Wednesday! Today on the blog I am sharing my first 2019 fall fashion blog post! Autumn dressing is my absolute FAVORITE! The layers, the texture and the ability to wear more clothes and not be cold OR hot is the best! This past Monday my blogger bestie Liz from With Wonder and Whimsy and I shopped till we dropped at Twelve Oaks Mall. We took over the Twelve Oaks Instagram to shop for our “Five Fall Essential” fashion items, and in todays blog post I am sharing what exact items I picked up at the mall. I will be styling each piece lots and lots over the course of the fall season and I looking forward to putting these fall essentials to the test this year and sharing them here in this blog post!
If you are from mid Michigan, I am sure you have heard of Twelve Oaks Mall, this shopping center features the best of designer and budget friendly fashion and is truly a destination for shopping. Located in Novi Michigan this centrally located mall is a place I have shopped since my youth and for many THE place to shop for clothes and decor. Each year patrons of Twelve Oaks flock to the mall to shop for back to school clothes, updated work wardrobes and cold weather ready styles. Fall shopping is truly on display at Twelve Oaks Mall.
Lets break down the categories for our “Five Fab Fall Essentials” that every woman needs to live her best pumpkin spice life this autumn and where to shop for them at Twelve Oaks.
- Designer Handbag – Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade, and Macys
- The Perfect Fall Boot – Nordstrom, Clarks, Journeys and Vans
- Autumn Outerwear – Dry Goods, JCP, J.Jill, Buckle, and HM
- A Cozy Sweater – American Eagle, Athleta, Eloquii, and Lord & Taylor
- Trendy Fall Accessory – Francescas, Kendra Scott, Pandora, and Aldo
1. Designer Handbag
Twelve Oaks Mall has so many options for shopping designer handbags, for my fall essential handbag I shopped Kate Spade, Coach and Michael Kors. The perfect fall handbag for me is something that can be carried in your hand OR as a crossbody, Michael Kors had the bag this year, I selected the medium Manhattan bag in matte black with silver hardware. In store Michael Kors had this bag in 4 styles, the matte black, soft pink, patent black, and cognac. I loved the variety of styles that were offered AND shopping in store means you can handle the bags before buying!
I am looking forward to styling this bag with everything from skirts and dresses to casual denim and sweaters. I do not have a bag with silver hardware so this beauty is really adding some edge to my closet. I am especially excited to style the Manhattan with an edgier street style fall look!
2. The Perfect Fall Boot
ITS NOT FALL IF YOU DON’T HAVE A BOOTIE. Thats my story and I am sticking TO IT! Snakeskin is all the rage this year and I am loving it, adding a little snakeskin is easy with a sassy statement bootie! I prefer to shop for shoes in person, because you really never know what brand are going to be the best fit. I know I can wear two different sizes depending on the brand, and with just having a baby my feet have grown a bit so trying on shoes before buying is a must.
These specific boots are Steve Madden and are called the Justice Cutout Bootie they are at the Twelve Oaks Nordstrom. I worked with a knowledgable sales associate to find the right size and fit, and walked out of the store with the perfect boot to add to my fall wardrobe. I am especially excited to style this boot with skirts and dresses this season!
3. Autumn Outerwear
Adding a lightweight piece of outerwear in the fall is a great way to feel cozy and warm up on those cooler days. I am a scarf person and knew immediately that I wanted a blanket scarf from Dry Goods. Blanket scarves are so warm and cozy, and this year with my little dude in tow have a blanket scarf will be especially nice for breastfeeding. The Dry Goods store at Twelve Oaks had probably 30 different scarf styles in store, I zeroed in on this especially fall looking tartan plaid scarf.
I plan on styling this beauty with leggings, skinnies and casual sweaters and tops. The warm tones are perfect for wrapping up in this fall at the cider mill and pumpkin patch.
4. Cozy Sweater
Another must have fall essential for the season is a sweater, this fall the color is rust/cinnamon and you can see it being played out in most of the clothing and decor stores at Twelve Oaks. I especially loved the duster length of this sweater at Eloquii, easily dressed up or down a duster cardigan is a true workhorse in your closet during the fall months! Metro Detroit plus size babes celebrated when Eloquii came to Twelve Oaks Mall, this trendy plus size brand has curvy babes dressed their best and able to shop in a MALL!
One of the benefits of shopping Eloquii in store is that many times they have items that have sold out online, that way you can get your hands on those pieces that are gone already. AND being able to try on different sizes is such a blessing.
5. Trendy Fall Accessory
Scarves, vests and hats not your thing? NO worries, Twelve Oaks Mall is holding it down with fabulous stores that have he latest in quality jewelry and accessories. Kendra Scott at Twelve Oaks is my go to for statement earrings they always have something beautiful and inspiring in store.
This season hoop earrings are back in a big way, Kendra Scott had me covered with at least 5 different styles to choose from in different tones. I went with the modern hoop in a beautiful silver, and now that I think about it silver was the name of the game for me. I got a silver hardware bag, silver embellished booties AND silver earrings.
That wraps up the “Five Fab Fall Essentials” each piece I selected has the power of versatility, that means it will mix and match well with other items in my closet, and coordinate well together! For me, being able to shop in store for these pieces and have them all selected and purchased in one afternoon is KEY, Twelve Oaks Mall makes that possible.
