Free People Oasis Midi Dress, this post has affiliate links.
Here we are again, I find myself reviewing another Free People dress that I purchased and styled for a boho dressy look. I am a size 14w-16w and typically wear an XXL or 1X in most clothing, after seeing the fit and reading the reviews of the Oasis midi dress from Free People, I decided to give it a go for an upcoming event. I ordered a size L in this dress, the bodice is smocked and there is plenty of fabric around the skirt for a size 14/16 plus size woman to rock this dress in a size L. Now typically the Oasis midi dress comes in lots of colors, when I ordered there were only two color options available. I went with this soft sand color, with the thought that it would work well into the fall with boots and denim.
The Oasis midi dress is 100% cotton, making it breathable and lovely to wear in the summer. Because the fabric is cotton some wrinkling does go on, but with the overall boho feel of the dress the wrinkles do not take away from the look. To play up the boho feel for the event, I styled this dress with a straw rancher hat, white booties and a straw bucket bag. I layered on gold jewelry and tied a summer scarf on my bag to bring the colors together. This look was a lot but lovely and really in line with what I was dreaming up! If you are plus size and looking at this dress, GO FOR IT! There is room to spare and in my opinion the XL would fit up to a size 20/22!
Things I was surprised about with this dress. The fabric is 100% cotton and layered to provide good coverage. The bodice is slightly adjustable and the tassels at the bust have little bells on them(so boho). For the event I chose to wear a strapless bra(40DDD), if I were wearing casually I would skip a bra all together. I hope this review helps you, if you are on the fence about this dress get it!!

Would this dress look nice with black combat boots?
