Sometimes you just need a great pair of jeans and a cute top to match! I started phasing my skinny jeans out last summer and am down to just a couple of classic skinny pairs, other than that wide legs styles have taken hold in my closet. Lately I have been pairing wide leg denim with a tee and booties, its a simple silhouette but there is so much room to play with accessories, tee style and so much more. In todays post I styled wide leg denim and a tee in a rich burnt orange, its an earth tone and a really beautiful one to wear during the spring and summer months.
This tee is from Eloquii, its got an over sized fit and is a quality fabric that drapes nicely and does not cling. The woven fabric has a slight sparkle to it which I think is nice for dressing it up a bit. I got in a size 14/16 and the fit is spot on for how I like my tops to look. The denim is from the LOFT, and I purchased before they announced that they were done with plus sizes. I am still wearing the jeans because I do like them and I paid for them but I am linking some equally nice Eloquii jeans for you to check out(that I also own)! If you are nervous about wide leg denim, trying out a cropped version is a great place to start. You get the feel for wider leg styles BUT your frame doesn’t feel overwhelmed because you are showing some ankle.
We have been having an unusually cool spring, so I paired this outfit with a pair of neutral booties, I wanted the wide leg denim to take center stage and a heel always helps with that! I got this pair from a resale boutique years ago, and I wear them constantly! This week I challenge you to style a jeans and tee outfit, but make it elevated. Maybe that is going to be through your accessories or maybe its going to be which shoes you choose. But give it a try!! You might be surprised by how much you enjoy this casual fit!
