A few weeks ago after watching the Marie Kondo Netflix special I decided to go ahead and work over my closet. Its been years since I went through it throughly and I had fallen into some bad habits with letting clothes stack up on the floor. With a baby on the way and plans to work over the guest room I knew I needed to get my closet space into shape before I could work on the rest of the house.
So I set out to review each piece of clothing and my closet, and what I found to be the most surprising in this process is my ability to let go of pieces I had been keeping for years. When I truly had to ask myself if an item brought me “Joy” the answers became so clear. I either wanted to wear it OR I didn’t. Now the items that DID bring me joy started to really stand out, I had made the decision to keep them and I WANTED TO WEAR THEM!
I picked up this dress from Target last fall, I have worn it, and styled it over and over again. As my body changes and my pregnancy progresses I wondered if this dress would still work for me. To my delight and surprise this dress still works perfectly for my changing body. I received this lilac blazer from Liz as a gift and have loved styling it in different ways. It definitely was an item that brought me joy, and styling the two together was a combo that I had never thought of until my closet had been cleared out.
