Escapada Review. This post is sponsored by Escapada. To read more about summer outfit reviews go HERE.
Happy Monday! Today on the blog I am sharing a review of a fantastic Charleston SC based brand Escapada! They reached out to me a couple of months ago wanting to send me a few items to review! I have shopped this brand before at Liz Louize, so I already knew what great items they carry. With August in full swing and September well on its way I opted to review some “darker” pieces from Escapada. This brand specializes in creating bright, lightweight pieces for babes that live in warm weather climates AND babes that need summer or vacation outfits! With Fall on its way I wanted to style some darker but still lightweight pieces! That way I can wear them now with heels and sandals, and then this fall with boots and booties!
Whenever I am called upon to “Review” items I try to provide EVERYTHING I can when it comes to the garment, I make sure to cover sizing, fabric and general fit notes. That way when you are shopping through the post OR if you come upon this post in a good search you are truly informed about the product before purchasing.

Charleston Tunic Dress
When I was selecting pieces to review for the blog post I knew immediately that I wanted to try out this dress. The Charleston Tunic dress comes in a four different patterns(that vary throughout the year) and features a removable belt. On the website the pattern I chose(Navy White Caicos) appeared to be more of a soft white almost tan and navy. But in person the pattern is white and navy, either was fine for me. I wasn’t sure about the sizing(juniors plus vs regular plus), and as a general rule in non stretch situations I size up(I am wearing the 2X). AND I am happy to report this line is a regular plus size line NOT juniors plus. I would have fit perfectly fine in my usual size 1X, but was able to make the blousier fit of the 2X work great.
After searching around on the Escapada website I found that most if not all of their products are Rayon(100% or a blend) this is great for warm weather dressing because Rayon is such a lightweight fabric, in most situations that lightweight fabric comes at the price of lots of wrinkles. THIS IS NOT THE CASE with Escapada pieces, I wore the Charleston dress all day and found that it wrinkled with wear(like cotton) but not excessively. The A line Silhouette with the added belt was great for my frame, and the horseshoe neckline is fun and something I haven’t tried before. The 3/4 sleeves feature a ruffle hem and are roomy on my size 16W frame.
I wore this garment with sandals for a casual look, and upped the dressy factor by shooting it with some nude pumps. This dress is one of those chameleon pieces that you can wear for a ton of events. Styled the right way you could wear this piece to a wedding on Saturday, and then an afternoon BBQ on Sunday. The added belt is nice to give this piece some shape, but runs small. I would have like the belt to be a bit longer so I could tie it easier.

Dottie Tunic Top
I wanted to review two different styles from Escapada so my second choice was the Dottie Tunic Top. I styled this 100% Rayon top with white skinny jeans and some nude pumps for an easy dressy look. The lightweight fabric was perfect for summer dressing and I have plans to pack this tunic for my next vacation, its perfect to wear as a bathing suit coverup for day and then with white pants at night! I sized up in this tunic as well, and wish that I had ordered my regular 1X. This piece is right on the edge of being to big, and I almost want to suggest sizing down.
The name of this print is “Aegean Blue Seaglass Cayo” and the colors are a bright royal blue and aqua with white borders. Its beautiful, summery and a colors that I usually don’t go for. This tunic is long but features slits up either side of the hemline, and has a fun tassel tie that you can wear multiple ways. For this look I liked the v-neck look, but as a bathing suit cover I would probably tie it up for more coverage.
I can’t help but imagine wearing this piece out for an evening at our favorite restaurant in Key West. Escapada has really captured the “Living” aspect of their brand.
