How did we find ourselves soaking up the last days of summer, HOW? Nevertheless here we are, enjoying the hottest month of them all. Of course I am planning on taking summer out in style, even if its at home and I encourage you to do the same! In todays blog post I partnered with Lane Bryant to share a couple of fun looks perfect for summer days, featuring one of the top trends of 2020 summer TIE DYE! A comfortable knit skirt can be both comfortable and chic, and right now when we are staying home most days that can be exactly what is needed. Get out of those sweats and into something equally as comfortable but elevated.
Tie Dye or Dip Dye?
The two outfits that are featured in todays blog post each have a different form of tie dye, classic, and dip dye. I think each style is beautiful but to me they are totally different looks. The tie dye skirt is playful, hugs my figure a bit more and lends itself to a sportier look. The dip dye skirt is a little dressier, its ivory and pink hues swirl around the ankles on this tiered maxi skirt. The loose and relaxed way of this piece looks best with a top that has a little structure like a camp top.
Styling The Tie Dye Skirt
I saw this skirt on LaneBryant.com and knew that I had to have it! It has such an interesting pattern and the fit of this skirt looks comfortable and sporty. I definitely get 60’s vibes from this piece so I styled it with some round sunglasses, a neck tank and some slides all from Lane Bryant! I have since paired this outfit with some white sneakers and black sunglasses and its SO CUTE! I took the size 14/16 in both of these pieces and they are a fantastic fit, this skirt is fitted through the belly so be aware when shopping.

Styling The Dip Dye Skirt
Ahh, the boho chic dip dye maxi skirt, a new 2020 closet staple. As the tie dye trend continues on, you will start to see more and more variations and interpretations of tie dye on clothing. I love the way a dip dye looks and its especially fun on this breezy knit skirt, I paired this skirt with a more structured camp style chambray shirt, I love the way the two pieces work together to balance out the look. For some added flare I wore some tortoise cat eye sunglasses, and a white wedge sandal both from LB. I opted to tie this top up instead of tucking it in because it is a heavier structure fabric, it would easily show under this lightweight skirt. I took the 14/16 in both the camp shirt and the skirt.
