Happy Friday! Today on the blog I am sharing a boutique spotlight! I used to do these on the blog All. The. Time. but have gotten away from it, so I am really pumped to highlight a gardening/home decor/gift shop in Chelsea Michigan! In this post I am sharing my favorite finds from around the store, and all about what The Potting Shed has to offer!
Lets Get Started!
The Potting Shed is located at 112 W Middle St. in Chelsea Michigan, this small town is famous for the Jiffy Factory(which you can see in the background of this pic!) and the Purple Rose Theater. Owned by a mother/daughter team The Potting Shed has now grown into three fabulous stores! The Potting Shed, Kitty Face(children’s toys and clothes), and Violet and Moss(a women clothes and accessories boutique). You can walk from the three different stores around town, and find different products within each shop. The Potting Shed is known for its garden area, unique gifts, and one of a kind home decor items.
What I love about this store!
When you enter The Potting Shed, your eyes are instantly drawn to the bright displays and colorful items that can be found from the floor to the ceiling! I love that each table has a common theme, this makes shopping for gifts and home decor easier, I especially loved the “Michigan” themed area, with colorful pillows and fun bar glasses all with that “Mitten State” theme that us Michiganders can’t get over. This store is a place you can come to shop and just get lost in the whimsy and fun decor, I love that this small town fixture has made a point to carry the unexpected and unique items. You can pick up a funny tea towel, and grab a quippy birthday card, OR you can stop in and shop for a fairy garden, and some gnomes. The Potting Shed seems to have defined itself as a space that is for the light of heart and a space that should never be taken too seriously.
If you have been following me for awhile then you already know that I love horses, and am active in the Equestrian Community. Anytime I see horse anything in a store I am instantly drawn to it. Every time I am in this shop I am drawn to the antique horse figurines that can be seen peeking out of small spaces around the shop. It inspires me to take a second and closer look at all the detail that goes into making this space so special.
The outdoor section of the shop is a place that gardeners and green thumb enthusiasts could really go crazy. From the unique garden figurines to the HUGE variety of succulents this section had me inspired to head right home and start planting. As I am writing my post I find that I keep looking back through the photos to find that one succulent I had never seen before or that one teacup with the adorable flower in it.
That is the magic of The Potting Shed. Stop into this Chelsea MI boutique to find some whimsy, and maybe a gift for someone special.
