Winter outfits are well underway, and I have finally gotten many of my things back from the cleaners after our house fire. My thoughtfully curated collection of hats, gloves and scarves came back to me in a tidy little box and in perfect time! When you live in a place that is cold more of the year than not quality cold weather accessories are an absolute must. So in todays post we are digging into my favorite spots to pick up winter accessories that have lasting power, and what to look for in a winter accessory that will be on trend for many years!

Winter Accessory Musts(for me)
Leather gloves – I am always, ALWAYS going to be a fan of a quality leather glove. I grew up watching my mother pull from a selection of leather gloves for her coats. As a little girl, it was peak grown up energy. My mothers gloves were special, and coveted, today I have my own collection of cashmere lined leather gloves that I love and adore. I linked two pairs here in this blog post, a pair from LandsEnd and a pair from Kate Spade.
Oversized hats – I have big head and I love wearing my hair down, when I step into a warm store, or restaurant I want to be able to pull my hat off and stash it in my bag. This means an oversized knit hat is a must for me, so it will fit my head AND not smash my hair down. I have found the best place to get this type of hat is Free People, which really isn’t surprising because Free People is known for how oversized their pieces are. I like to have a beret option and a beanie option to wear out.
Blanket scarves – I know blanket scarves went OUT, a few years ago and I get it. Wearing them constantly with every outfit is not a thing anymore. BUT having a collection of quality big scarves is a must when you live in a cold place. I like to wear my scarves over my coats, and then when I get to the coffee shop, restaurant or friends house throw my scarf over my shoulders to keep warm and continue to wear my fun winter accessories. Now, a scarf is really easy thing to have ALOT of, I get it. My tip is to shop smart and go for a neutral option, bright option and patterned option. This year I added a houndstooth scarf that looks so good with a camel coat or an all black outfit.
Treat your scarves with respect, pay attention to how to wash them and always cut the tags off!
