Catherines Plus Size: Styling Over The Bump. This post is sponsored by Catherines. To read more about how I am styling the bump go HERE.
Happy Friday! Today on the blog I am sharing how I styled 3 different non maternity looks over the bump with Catherines. Navigating clothing during the later parts of this pregnancy has been an adventure, being plus size I automatically have less options in the maternity sections and being fashion minded I am always on the look out for pieces that I can make work during my pregnancy and after. I teamed up with Catherines to share 3 different looks that work well on my plus size pregnant body AND will be amazing after I have my baby boy in a month or so!
About Catherines
Catherines is a plus size brand that specializes in comfortable clothing size 16-34, 0X-6X. The Catherines brand has been dressing and outfitting plus size women for years and is known to create styles with an emphasis on comfort and function. This sister brand to Lane Bryant always has styles in stock to boost the plus size woman confidence and help her be seen!
My Three Picks
I put together 3 looks from Catherines with intentions on styling while on a girls weekend at 34 weeks pregnant! I wanted to have stylish pieces that made me feel confident and that could easily be styled with other pieces in my closet. I ended up with two maxi dresses and one jumpsuit!
Orange Maxi | Jumpsuit | Black Maxi
I selected each piece for the trip with specific activities in mind AND with my growing bump in mind. I love ordering new outfits to wear for trips, it gets me in the mood for the vacation and helps me be inspired about where and what I will be up to while there!
Sizing and Styling Over The Bump
Catherines carries sizes 0X-6X and size 16-34. Pre pregnancy I was wearing a 0X in Catherines pieces, rocking my 8 month baby bump I was a little anxious about ordering zeros in everything so the orange dress(no stretch) I sized up to the 1X and it was big, I was able to cinch the waist up but would have been fine with my normal size.
My advice for pregnant mommas when shopping Catherines for bump friendly outfits is to stick with dresses and jumpsuits and order your usual size.
First Look
The first look that I am sharing is a knit maxi dress with a dark palm motif. I love this dress because of the unique play on the popular palm trend and the fabric, I got this piece in the 0X and really like how it fit through my hips.
I wore this dress to dinner out and was comfortable in low strap sandals and carrying my KS bucket bag. I would love to style this piece again with black slides for a more casual spin on a comfortable summer dress.
How I knew it would work for my pregnant figure – The fabric is a stretch knit and the dress is sewn to move away from the body at the waist. The combination of fabric and silhouette means this dress will work great for a pregnant figure.

Second Look
Trends have worked in my favor with the pregnancy and jumpsuits are IN STYLE!! When I am traveling I need to be comfortable(especially right now). I went with this loose fitting romper style jumpsuit so I could be comfortable in the car on the road trip, I layered a denim jacket over the top and some comfortable Catherines sandals for an easy travel look that would transition easily into different events by swapping out accessories. I am wearing the 0X in this jumpsuit and its great fit!
How I knew it would work for my pregnant figure – This jumpsuit has NO WAIST and is a stretch knit fabric!

Third Look
The third Catherines look that I styled was this bright orange paisley print maxi dress. The crepe polyester blend had less stretch than the two other pieces that I styled, so I opted to size up to the 1X just in case. I made it work but could have gone with my usual 0X in this specific dress. I wanted to play up the bright colors and tones in this dress so I styled it with soft pink strap sandals a big statement earring and a white bucket bag. I love this look for summer parties dressed up and dressed down with a flat sandal for the weekends. This dress would be a great look for a warm weather vacation and is versatile enough to wear multiple times!
How I knew it would work for pregnant figure – The fabric blend on this dress was a little trickier, I knew that the silhouette would work well for a pregnant lady but wanted to be sure this fabric would work. Sizing up is usually the answer in these cases.
