Stratford Girls Trip: A Babymoon With My Gal Pals. This post is sponsored by Stratford Tourism Board. To read more about my trip to Stratford go HERE.
Happy Monday! Today on the blog I am sharing a fun travel post and a different perspective on the concept of the “Babymoon”(the trip couples take before their first child is born). I recently traveled with some of my blogger gal pals from Metro Detroit to Stratford ON. This trip was hosted by the Stratford Tourism Board and orchestrated by the lovely Liz from the blog With Wonder and Whimsy.
On our road trip out to Stratford I got thinking about how my husband and I never took a babymoon together, and how it wasn’t something that we ever really thought about planning. Then I got thinking about how soon our lives would be forever changed because of our sweet bundle coming into the world, we would still have our everyday together BUT the next time I would be able to head out with the girls was going to be years from now, heck even hanging out with them would be on hold. It really made me think about lucky I am to be able to spend a weekend having girl talk, eating great food and reveling in being footloose and fancy free!
This posted is loaded with photos and I kept the text short but made sure to include links to everywhere we shopped, ate and stayed!
Lets talk location.
My last trip before my baby gets here is set in the STUNNING city of Stratford ON. An artistic and creative Canadian town just 3 hours outside of Detroit. This city is bursting at the seams with good food, world renowned theatre, and fun shopping. Set against a lovely lake, taking a stroll through Stratford is not only SAFE(so important for a girls trip) but also relaxing and beautiful.
Stratford as a destination for people looking to getaway while pregnant is amazing, the city is beautiful and has so much to offer by way of food and entertainment. Nothing is to far of a walk or ride away making it perfect for getting around with the bump. What I love is that this town isn’t all about getting a buzz, there are so many restaurants with lots on the menu to eat and drink. I never felt like I was missing out.
Who was with me…
This trip consisted of 6 Metro Detroit Influencers, I am linking everyone so you can seek them out to follow.

Day ONE
Our day started bright and early in Metro Detroit, after the drive over we were hungry and ready to have some fun in Stratford! Our first stop was Revival House for light bites and some cocktails(mocktail for me).
3 ESSENTIAL aspects to any girls trip –
1. FOOD, we want to eat and eat really good stuff.
2. SHOPPING, what group of girls doesn’t love to shop!
3. ENTERTAINMENT, Stratford has so much to offer in this department from shows to hanging at a cafe or restaurant listening to music!
After a bite to eat we stashed our bags away at the Bentley Lofts and headed for the Illume Spa, there the girls and I enjoyed a sea salt room and a foot soak.
After relaxing at the spa we all headed back to the lofts to freshen up and get changed for our dinner and show!
The girls and I took in Little Shop of Horrors, it was fun, dark and and had a glossy glam vibe that was perfect for our group! Seeing the show and eating some delicious carbs was just what this pregnant lady wanted!!

Day TWO
We started our day with specialty coffee, avocado toast and overnight oats at Edisons Coffee. Being in my third trimester I am not a big morning eater, so having something light and delicious was perfect! Little coffee shops and eateries are tucked in all around Stratford, making it easy to shop and stop for a coffee or bite to eat.
After breakfast it was time to SHOP! We toured boutiques and shopped for everything from home wares to clothing! I especially loved popping into the children’s sections at each boutique, these days I am always on the lookout for cute little baby boy things!
Pregnancy Pit Stop! After shopping I took the afternoon to nap and rest back at our lovely lofts, the girls kept shopping and touring!
For dinner we got fixed up and went out for Italian food! Being a fashionista its always fun to see what everyone is wearing each day! We all packed a bunch of cute outfits and it was fun seeing how the group styled outfits for all of our activities.
Being sooo pregnant I wore comfortable heels and dresses every chance I could!

Day THREE
Our Final day in Stratford! With Stratford being so close to the Metro Detroit area we planned on some shopping and dining for our final day in the city with an afternoon drive back to Detroit.
We started the day with a tour and brunch at the Stratford Chef School, where we learned more about the culinary aspects of Stratford and enjoyed a styled brunch by Bradshaws a local boutique! It was such a special treat to see how the unique pieces from the boutique came together to create a stunning tables cape! I really loved the swan motif played out throughout the table!
After brunch and the tour we had some free time to shop, and enjoy Stratford!
We wrapped up our trip with dinner at Mercer a casual eatery with high end cuisine, it was the perfect way to end our trip!
