This post is coming to you from my new office, and boy does it feel GOOD to be sitting here! Last Friday was my last day at my previous job, and all weekend long I kept forgetting that I was going to be doing my dream job on Monday, then it would occur to me that I was starting my new career and my heart would fill with relief and JOY. The past two weeks have been CRAZY, and planning content had gotten pretty tough with all the other things happening in my life. I am keeping todays post short and sweet, and giving you some insight into my creative process.
So I thought I would share one way I gain inspiration for my outfits and home decor! And that is Pinterest. Now most women know all about this website and app, BECAUSE its amazing. Years ago, before Curls and Contours even existed I used Pinterest to get ideas about outfits, home decor, and DIY projects. And then when I became an influencer I still turned to Pinterest to not only upload my own content and continue to gain outfit inspiration and ideas. As an influencer I am picky about what platforms I utilize to connect with my readers, I like Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook. Each platform offers different ways to engage with my readers and over the years I have found that different people prefer different social media platforms.
As a consumer I turn to Pinterest to gain inspiration, I don’t usually “shop” the products and looks I see on the app. I like to get ideas, and then apply them to my current closet or go out shopping with that look in mind.
My Pinterest landing profile features my most utilized page, my “Plus Size Fashion” board, I pin other influencers to this board as well as my own images. Right now I have been loving springs hottest color “Ultra Violet” So I have been pinning and researching different ways to draw this trend into my closet.
My “Kitchen Sink” board is the place where I stick lists, and memes that don’t fit into any of my other boards. I love a good grumpy cat meme, and am always looking for new things to do on the weekends. I am a self professed beauty amateur, so I am always looking at ways to up my beauty game.
AND I recently decided to start blowing my curls out at home for a smoother look I have turned to Pinterest to help me with the tools needed for this undertaking.I know what you are thinking, “You don’t know how to blow out your hair?” and the answer is yes, I have a naturally curly mop of blonde hair and always ALWAYS wear it curly.
With my home undergoing renovations, I am constantly on Pinterest researching DIY projects, and learning about different ways to add more style and flair to my home. Our kitchen is (finally) almost complete, so my most recent pins have been all about how to install subway tile, and ways to utilize all the new cabinetry I now have!
